Is Disney canceling Hannah Montana?!
There’s a rumor going around that Miley gave an interview saying:
“The past 3 series have been great. My dad and I have been a good team and became closer. I was recently talking with the crew and they said that Hannah Montana is going off air this Spring. They believe they should make room for new shows and give people a new career with Disney. I am very upset and bewildered by this. I wish everyone luck in the cast. It has been a once in a lifetime ride through the show.”
And? It’s allegedly been confirmed by Disney.
Stay tuned for this one.

I guess I should have read down further first before commenting on the Movie, but this does not surprise me. Most Disney shows are cancelled after 3 seasons or 65 shows.
The only shows that broke through that were:
That’s So Raven (I have no idea why)
Kim Possible (Fan support begging for another season)
and
Suite Life of Zach and Cody (this didn’t last more than 3 years, but they did do more than 65 episodes).

Re-reading that “interview” something is wrong. With a third season presumably in the can and not yet aired, and the movie not yet finished, there is no way (especially “on the set”) that they would have any clue as to when exactly Hannah would end as a series, but it sure as heck was never going to be, “this spring.”

A little more research shows that thanks to the writers strike, Hannah Montana hasn’t even been filmed yet. (It was due to start filming right after her tour).
Now of course, Disney has canned a couple of shows in their second season, so it wouldn’t be unprecedented, but it still goes to show that the source of this rumor and the claimed Miley Statements are false, because as of February 2008 (at least) season three had not yet begun filming.
